Whats the difference between food stamps and food stamp cash?
I was just curious b/c I use to work as a cashier and I had some people come in that used the food stamp card for groceries and some who pressed food stamp cash to pay with the card. How does that work and what is the difference? Also can you get cash back from a food stamp card?
I looked at your question, hoping to see what an answer to this would be. But, my guess is that ones that qualify for a program for both cash and Food stamps would have it put all on the same card. I hope you get your answer for more information. I waited until more time for you to get your answer, before I tried to give an answer. I hope you get an answer. I am curious, also.
How do you cook food with out the food/coating sticking to the deep fryer basket?
I have a Waring Pro® Deep Fryer all the food I put in the basket sticks to the basket (i.e., shrimp, salmon cakes, chicken, fries, etc.) How do you cook Food with out the food/coating sticking to the deep fryer basket?
Are you batter dipping or is this prebreaded/battered stuff?
When putting in freshly battered/breaded food, don’t just drop it in.
I hold the piece, hold the top and let most of it go into the oil until the coating starts to cook, that makes it float a little & hardens most of the coating so it doesn’t stick.
How do you make homemade dog food?
I am pretty satisfied with commercial dog food and I have no problem sticking with it, but I would just like to know how to make nutritional homemade dog Food. My dogs are a golden retriever, beagle, and dachshund if that information is needed. I would like advice also, like what supplements to put in the food, and the right portions, and a professional website would be the best. I don’t really want just Homemade dog food that isn’t any better than commercial dog food. Please help out. Thanks.
Do not feed your dog bones, especially cooked bones. Fragments can become lodged in the digestive tract. Canines in the wild who eat bones have the benefit of consuming hair and hide too, which have been found to ‘pad’ the bone fragments and aid in their passing. Other foods to avoid that are dangerous for dogs are chocolate, avocados, mushrooms, macadamia nuts, grapes, raisins, onions, and garlic.

How much food do you feed your adult cat?
My cat is 1 year old, he’s a male and he weighs 12.2 lbs. He looks slightly overweight because he has a gut that hangs down around his waist. I want him to lose weight but dont know what portions of food to feed him. Currently I feed him a half a can of wet food and 1/2 cup of dry food every day, broken up into 4 meals. Am I overfeeding him? How much should I be feeding him?
The size can I give him is 5.5 oz.
There is NO such thing as dry "diet" food for cats. Dry foods are filled with carbs that make your cat fat. You can’t make a dry food without carbs, so there are no dry diet foods.
The proper amount to feed per cat/per day should be about 5.5 ounces of wet (high quality grain free canned or Raw Meat/Bones/Organ) food.
The calories in that amount of Food are sufficient for most "normal" sized cats. Of course a highly energetic cat will need more food to keep it Healthy, and a lazy cat will need less food to keep it from getting obese. But 5.5 ounces of wet food per day is a good place to start.

How much dry cat food does my cat really need?
I used to give him a can of wet food every other day and about a half cup of dry food daily, but the wet food gave him diarrhea, so I don’t give him that anymore. He is at a healthy weight of about 8 pounds (he’s almost a year old), and I don’t want him to get fat, but he is always begging for food.
Easy for you to say diarehha isn’t a big deal. You don’t have to clean it off your floor and the poor cats feet after it happens. I need real answers. Not judgements.
None Diarrhea doesn’t compared to blockages, diabetes, kidney disease
Get some acidoupholous from a Health food store and sprinkle some on the food each day. You need to feed proper food for the species
Nutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your cat’s health
Contrary to what you may have heard; dry Foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.
Please read the label on what you are feeding? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingredient a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things?

Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u.t.i’s and a host of other problems. Male cats are especially prone to blockages
from dry food. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods. Rashes, scabs behind the tail and on the chin are all symptoms The problems associated with Dry food is that they are loaded with grains and carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process. ( Have a fat cat?)
Also, Most of the moisture a cat needs is suppose to be in the food but in Dry, 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Another thing, most use horrible ingredients and don’t use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.

You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn’t have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all.
THE BEST CAT FOODS CONTAIN NO GRAINS NO BYPRODUCTS
Cats are meat eaters not cereal or rice eaters
Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. I would rather feed a middle grade canned food then the top of the line dry food.
Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Does a hard pretzel clean your teeth or do pieces of it get stuck? http://www.felinefuture.com/nutrition/bpo_ch4a.php

Vetinarian diets The reason your vet thinks so highly of the pet food they sell probably has more to do with money than nutrition. In vet school, the only classes offered on nutrition usually last a few weeks, and are taught by representatives from the pet food companies. Vet students may also receive free food for their own dogs and cats at home. They could get an Iams notebook, a Purina purse and some free pizza. http://iml.jou.ufl.edu/projects/Spring04/Perhach/PetFood/Vets.htm

How do Cats and Dogs know which is cat food and which is dog food?
I have 2 cats and three dogs. One night, I ran out of cat food (the dry type) and my cats were hungry. So since I had dog food only and the shops were closed, I gave them dog kibbles. They’re more or less of the same shape and size and are made of the same ingredients – chicken. My cats took a nibble and refused the rest of the bowl, preferring to go hungry than eat dog food. The next day, i got them a fresh pack of made-for-cats kibbles and they immediately dived in and ate up. How come my cats knew what I gave them wasn’t cat food?
I also know of dogs that won’t eat cat food for the long run (not mine though, cos they’re pigs and will eat anything).
It would be good if a pet food manufacturer can answer this question. Is there some special ingredient you put in cat and dog food that makes cats and dogs know which kibbles is who’s? Also, nowadays, dogs are eating fish too – like salmon. You can’t say it’s the ingredient. How come they know the difference?
They know, especially dogs. If you leave the cat food bowl on the floor the dog will go after it before it goes for the dog food. Cat food is higher quality ingredients than dog Food, and dogs know this because after they try cat food they think it tastes better. Cats usually won’t eat the dog food if it is on the floor because of the same reasons. They know the cat food tastes better as well. Here is a solution to keep the dog from eating the cat’s food. Put the cat food bowl up on the counter top where the dog can’t reach it. Only the cat can jump up there, and the cat won’t go near the dogs food bowl on the floor.
How much food and water do I need to supply my cat when I go away for 3 weeks?
I live alone and have a new cat but need to go away for a 3 week Business trip. If I leave a very big bowl with 21 days worth of Food and a big bowl with 21 days worth of water will that be enough? Should I leave extra food in case the cat mismanages its intake and eats all the food and drinks all the water in the first 10 days?
Please find someone to come in daily or at the least every other day to feed your cat and give it fresh water, clean the litterbox and play with it.
that is WAY WAY WAY WAY too long for a cat to be left alone for. 48 hrs is too long. if you can’t find someone to come into your Home to take care of your cat you should find somewhere to board your cat, maybe the vet’s office will do it or know of a good place.
What is the best food chopper to purchase?
I would like to purchase a food chopper to chop up dehydrator foods. I was hoping to buy an old food chopper on ebay. I have look at Oster and Rival food chopper and the information that I receive is about the meat grinder.
Does anyone know anything about the one that you attach to you table?
Thank in advance from your information.
Do you mean a food processor? When I think of a Food chopper I think of those cheap plastic little gadgets- like the Slap Chop (no offense). If you’re talking about a food processor, then Kitchen Aid is the way to go… Less expensive then Cusineart and just as sturdy.
What human food treats do you feed your cat?
I make wet cat food and stick to foods I know are fine for cats. Like Human Grade Turkey Liver, Chicken Liver, Chicken Thighs and Boneless Salmon, Peas and Carrots. What other Foods would you suggest to put in there? I tried Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash and it worked as well:)
I do feed dry food, they get Homemade wet food because of the bad preservatives and fillers like corn and wheat.
My cat loves to eat lots of human food if you can spare them some chicken not raw or maybe some roast lamb, but if you don’t have that they love Tuna or my cats favourite ham and luncheon
Hope this helps
cheers
What tax category are food purchases for food sales rep?
My husband is a food sales rep employee in which he also gives consultations/suggestions for restaurants. As a result, he eats at many of his customers’ restaurants to try their Food or at potential customers’ restaurants. This should be tax deductible because it’s for his job in which he is trying their food and/or trying to promote Business. However, I don’t think this would fall into the meal category which is only 50% deductible. Anyone know what category this would fall into?
If he’s eating at their restaurants with an eye towards promoting their restaurant, THEY should be paying for the meals.
Meals taken in the vicinity of your tax Home are not deductible. A food critic might have an argument but your hubby does not.
