How do you cook food with out the food/coating sticking to the deep fryer basket?

Posted by on June 28, 2010

I have a Waring Pro® Deep Fryer all the food I put in the basket sticks to the basket (i.e., shrimp, salmon cakes, chicken, fries, etc.) How do you cook Food with out the food/coating sticking to the deep fryer basket?

Are you batter dipping or is this prebreaded/battered stuff?
When putting in freshly battered/breaded food, don’t just drop it in.
I hold the piece, hold the top and let most of it go into the oil until the coating starts to cook, that makes it float a little & hardens most of the coating so it doesn’t stick.

I always dip my basket into the oil and then put the food in. That seems to help me, but I get stuff stuck from time to time too.
