How do you become a trainee in a retail management scheme?

I’m 23, don’t have any degree, but good high school grades. I’m wondering how I could go about getting a job with a Retail company as a trainee retail manager. I have previous retail experience, but not in a management role.

Which would be the best company to apply to, and how would I apply?

I’ve seen these schemes advertised in papers like Metro, but I would imagine that most companies would advertise them on their websites also.

I know that Lidl and Morrison’s both have really good trainee schemes, although typically they are looking to hire graduates. I would start with their websites, and if there is no information on there, then call their head offices and ask to speak to someone in HR or recruitment.

Then, in terms of other companies to try, think about what companies are likely to have such schemes: it will primarily be large chains, so all the national supermarkets, and also department stores and high-street Fashion stores. Again, just browse their websites for information.

What is the best camera for different types of professional photography?

I would like to study 4 different types of photography in college. These are the four types:
-Baby Photography
-Black and White Photography
-Portrait Photography
-Landscape Photography
So what is the best kind of camera for these types of photography? And don’t worry about the price.

I’d like to respectfully contradict the advice iCan offered about lens choice. The cameras are fine, but the 24-70mm fitted to a camera of this type does not offer wide angle. 24-70mm is a good focal length range on a full frame or 35mm film camera – wide to short telephoto. On a "crop" sensor camera like the Pentax K series, it is equivalent to 36-105mm which is too long for many tasks, though a good portrait choice.

Despite the shrinking place of film, many colleges still insist on training students on film, and including darkroom procedures. All 35 mm SLR and rangefinder cameras will do the range of tasks you referred to, but make sure the one you choose has full manual control – exposure,AND focus.

Likewise, all DSLRs are capable of handling all these subjects and styles. There is a case for a medium format camera for landscape and portrait Photography, and with lighter, faster medium format equipment coming onto the market at around the $10,000 mark with one lens included, these are an option for some people (you did say not to worry about price).

As a working pro earning a decent living from each of these areas of photography, I find that full-frame DSLRs cope perfectly well with all these challenges, and even the top-end crop-cameras are perfectly acceptable tools.

Why Can’t Chuck Get His Business Off the Ground?

http://iam.ij.org/9uFUX3 How can Americans create private sector jobs?

The solution to America’s jobs problem lies not with budget-busting federally mandated “stimulus” programs.

Instead, what is needed are specific reforms that wouldn’t cost taxpayers, would create a broader tax base for cash-strapped cities and states, and would provide opportunity for millions of Americans who worry where their next paycheck is coming from.

As demonstrated by a series of eight new reports issued in October 2010 by the Virginia-based Institute for Justice, one of the principal obstacles to creating new jobs and entrepreneurial activity in cities across the country is the complex maze of regulations cities and states impose on small businesses. IJ’s “city study” reports are filled with real-world examples of specific restrictions that often make it impossible for entrepreneurs to create jobs for themselves, let alone for others.

Chip Mellor, the president and general counsel of the Institute for Justice, said, “If the nation is looking to the federal government to create jobs in America, it is looking in the wrong place. If we want to grow our economy, we must remove government-imposed barriers to honest enterprise at the city and state levels. Remove those barriers, and you will see a return to the optimism and opportunity that are hallmarks of the American Dream.”

IJ’s eight reports document how irrational and anti-competitive regulations block entrepreneurship. More often than not, these government-imposed restrictions on economic liberty are put in place at the behest of existing Businesses that are not shy about using government force to keep out competition. The Institute for Justice’s city studies examine regulations imposed on a wide range of occupations in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Newark, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

My sister is allergic to most household pets and I really want one! Any ideas?

I love pets and would love one but my sisters allergic. I would have a hypoallergenic cat but that’s way too expensive and reptiles are out of the question because I want something that you can cuddle. I live with my sister and even if I can get a hamster/rabbit/mouse and kept it in my room. My sister would still end up in hospital. (my sister isn’t allergic to birds though)
Do you have any pets I could have or anyway I could deal with this?

actually you can cuddle with a lot of reptiles more than you can with a hamster or something
leopard geckos, crested geckos and bearded dragons are some of the most docile ones – they make fantastic Pets

budgies, cockatiels, parrotlets and other smaller parrots like conures could be options too. They are more high maintenance than a lot of other pets, and they require a lot of time and attention but they will literally become your best friend – they are so clever and form such strong bonds :)
